Our intended use for this lathe is mainly to make bits for old motorbikes! Now then I have never used a metal working lathe and my partner's experience is only marginally greater (school metalwork lessons which generally involved "Sir, sir Richardson got a lump of metal stuck in his head, again." The lathe does come with it's original handbook which explains all it's features/specs and such, it doesn't even have any oily paw prints! He never got round to it and by the condition of the lathe it would appear that he hardly ever used it, the condition is astonishingly good for a 40 year old machine tool. The previous owners is a retired civil service engineer who had originally bought this lathe in 1973 to enable him to build a gauge whatever steam loco. On Saturday last my business partner and I collected a Myford Super 7 lathe, c/w a large number of accessories milling bed, 3 jaw, 4 jaw chucks etc., and literally hundreds of various cutting tools.
